Develop skills to work safely and follow work health and safety policies and procedures in resources and infrastructure workplaces.
Who is this course for?
For people working or seeking operational work in civil infrastructure, coal mining, construction, drilling, extractive industries and metalliferous mining.

Entry requirements
No formal prerequisites are listed. CTS requires learners to be at least 18 years old.
Assessment
Assessment uses workplace observation or role-play/simulation, with questioning that may include self-assessment, verbal responses, written questionnaires, activity modules or interviews.

Industry and reference sources, which may include
legislative, organisation and site requirements and procedures; manufacturer’s guidelines and specifications; Australian standards; code of practice; management plans; safe working procedures (or equivalent); tagging and lockout procedures; toxic substances procedures; gas monitoring procedures
Personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include
hard hats; hearing protection; eye protection; respiratory masks; other prescribed clothing and equipment related to tasks; self-rescuers which may include filter or self-contained types

long sleeved shirt; long pants; steel capped or closed toe safety boots

Recognition of Prior Learning
