Course overview
Develop skills in workplace communication using equipment and systems, face-to-face communication and written documentation. The unit relates to resources and infrastructure work and other industries using relevant workplace practices and procedures.
Who is this course for?
For people working or seeking operational work in civil infrastructure, coal mining, construction, drilling, extractive industries and metalliferous mining.

Entry requirements
No formal prerequisites are listed. CTS requires learners to be at least 18 years old.
Assessment
Assessment uses workplace observation or role-play/simulation and questioning through self-assessment, verbal responses, written activities, online modules or interviews.

legislative, organisation and site requirements and procedures; manufacturer’s guidelines and specifications; Australian standards; code of practice; management plans; pre-start and post-shutdown checklists; One (1) mine control/operations room
Equipment, which may include
communication devices; computers and database management system accessories; monitors; power controls; touch pad
Equipment, PPE and practical access
Computer/laptop with relevant software such as, but not limited to, the following
internet access preferably through Google Chrome; MS Word and PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat Reader

Recognition of Prior Learning
RPL is not applicable to this unit.
